Current members of the lab
Team leader - After a master at the Ecole Normale Supérieure, Paris, Nicolas trained in developmental biology in the lab of Alain Chédotal at the Vision Institute in Paris. His work focused on the developmental plasticity of commissural projections, using mouse genetics. For his post-doc, he went to the lab of Marc Tessier-Lavigne at the Rockefeller University in New York. There, he co-developed the iDISCO and ClearMap platform for the labeling, imaging and analysis of intact biological samples using light sheet microscopy and tissue clearing. He opened his lab at the Institut du Cerveau et de la Moelle Epiniere in Paris in January 2017.
Graduate student - Thomas did his undergraduate studies at the Ecole Normale Supérieure and the Université de Poitier. He became interested in developmental neurosciences during 2 rotations in the labs of Alain Chédotal (Institut de la Vision, Paris) and Marc Tessier-Lavigne (The Rockefeller University, New York). He joined the lab in January 2017 and is working on the relations between behavioral and axon structural plasticity in the mouse brain. He obtained an independent fellowship from the Ministry of Research.
Research Assistant / Ingénieur d'étude - Florine trained at the Ecole de Biologie Industrielle in Cergy. She worked then for 4 years in the Necker Imagine Institute on neurogenetics. She joined the lab in April 2017 and is working on genes controlling adult structural plasticity.
Postdoctoral Associate - Alba hails from Galicia - Spain, where she did her PhD and undergraduate studies. Alba worked with José Castillo Sanchez at the Clinical Neurosciences Research Laboratory in the University of Santiago. There, she described the neuroprotective effects of a local vs systemic cooling of the blood following cerebral strokes. She joined the lab in January 2018 to work on the scale and mechanisms of long-range cortical plasticity.
Master Student - Paul did his undergraduate studies at the Ecole Polytechnique, and a master in Mathematics Applied to Computer Vision. He joined the team in April 2018 as a joint student with the Aramis Lab at the ICM. He is working on building models based on large-scale image segmentation data obtained in the lab.
Master Student - Sophie completed her engineering degree at SUPELEC, and then moved for her master’s degree to the ETH Zurich. There, she studied electrical engineering, computer science and biology. She then worked on building algorithms for high speed analysis of human gait based on dynamic vision sensors. She is working to build models to integrate activity mapping with ethogram quantifications.
Catarina joined the lab as a master student in 2019 to work with Patricia Gaspar on alloparentality. She studied in Coimbra, Portugal before joining the lab.
